Disconnect power and let the phone dry
If the phone is wet, unplug accessories and do not charge it until the connector is dry. Wipe the exterior and leave microphone openings unobstructed in natural airflow.
Do not blow into the microphones, use compressed air or insert paper or pins.
Identify which recording path fails
Record a voice note, a short front-camera video and a rear-camera video, then make a call when safe. Different results can help identify which microphone path or app permission is involved.
Remove the case or screen protector if it overlaps an opening.
Check permission and audio routing
A microphone that fails in only one app may simply lack permission. Review Privacy and Microphone settings, then test again. Disconnect Bluetooth headsets so the phone’s own microphones are used.
The nBeats meter provides a live level indication; it is not stored and is not a calibrated sensitivity measurement.
When to stop testing
If recordings remain silent or severely distorted after drying time, or the phone has heat, charging or power symptoms, arrange support. Sound played through the speaker cannot clear liquid from every microphone cavity.
Describe which apps and cameras fail when contacting service; that is more useful than saying only that the phone has no sound.
Device-specific safety statements are linked to current manufacturer guidance and independent reporting.
