Use dry, normally working equipment. Start low, set headphones up outside your ears, and stop at discomfort, distortion or unusual heat.

How to use it

A clean test starts with a simple setup.

  1. 01

Start at low volume—pure tones can feel louder than music.

  2. 02

Choose a preset or move the frequency control.

  3. 03

Do not use very low frequencies to force a phone speaker.

  4. 04

Stop immediately if you hear harsh distortion or feel discomfort.

This is a diagnostic, not a repair.

If your device is hot, swollen, wet inside or completely silent after drying, stop testing and contact a qualified technician.

Common questions

Before you test

01How do I generate a specific frequency online?

Use the slider or a preset to choose a frequency from 40 Hz to 18 kHz, then press Play frequency. Start with a low listening level.

02What frequency removes water from a speaker?

There is no single universal frequency for every speaker design. Use the full nBeats water-eject sequence for that task instead of a sustained test tone.

03Why can’t I hear very high frequencies?

Hearing sensitivity and speaker output naturally fall at high frequencies. The result is not a medical hearing test.
