A muffled speaker is an audio symptom
A droplet near the loudspeaker grille or diaphragm can reduce output, blur speech or create a raspy edge. A speaker-cleaner sequence may change that symptom by moving the diaphragm and the air immediately around the grille.
The result is audible: music or speech becomes clearer. It says nothing reliable about liquid beside a connector pin or inside another cavity.
A liquid alert is a charging-safety symptom
iPhone, Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices can warn about liquid or debris around a wired connector. The device may block charging to reduce the risk of corrosion or electrical damage.
Unplug the cable. Keep the connector facing down, allow natural airflow and follow the exact manufacturer guidance for the model. Do not override a warning merely because the battery is low.
Why sound cannot clear the port
The loudspeaker diaphragm only drives air around the speaker assembly. It does not create a controlled pressure path through the charging connector. Playing a bass tone therefore cannot certify that the port is dry.

Use a two-track recovery decision
Track speaker clarity and connector safety independently. For the speaker: one sound cycle, rest and an ordinary audio test. For the connector: no cable, airflow, time and the maker’s support instructions.
